“It’s a megatonne of fun!”
Easy Island is a stylish, dreamy, steamy period soap-opera series based on the true story of The Pacific Proving Grounds, a group of tropical islands used by the U.S. Navy to test nuclear bombs after World War II.
Easy Island a character filled story about the birth of the bikini and Hawaiian shirts, about radioactive fallout and mass deportation. It was a time that defined future decades of tropical fantasy, a time where spies, ex-Nazi scientists, and generals with Q-clearance sipped mai tais together in the ad hoc cocktail bar set up on the beach. When the sun set their fingers glowed with radiation poisoning, but the fun never stopped.
Easy Island is a period satire about the relationships between American consumer culture and imperialism.
